I was digging through the timeline, in preparation of the Clan Day.  I came across this headline:

Feb 07 29476

QuoteUnconfirmed reports have also linked the Dust Brigade to possible sabotage on insurance databanks, as well as the illegal possession of life-force dissipaters and devices that are able to scramble suppression-gas receptors.

I remember we were wondering about how suppression gaz was supposed to work...  We got our answer right there :)  It acts on receptors (that's in brain cells ;)).  It's meant to suppress aggression, up to a certain level.

So, for RP purposes and for those who actually care about the game settings...  now we know :)

There's also the mention of suppression gas in the animated series, episode 102c (part 3 on the download list). Eleena Oak fires a gun at the mysterious stranger, but the bullet just bounces.

Aw drat...  I remember that one...  Gah.

I wonder if there's any chance to see whoever's in charge of deciding that stuff, make a clarification... I'd kinda like to know, because it's aggression management in a world at war definitly plays a role in why we can or can't do things.

Well...I guess most have plainly ignored the suppression gas in suitable situations. I know I have been roleplayed physically hurting someone, or been the victim of physical attacks on several of my characters during roleplay sessions, and it's been great (because it was agreed or approved). But, there is the ingame restriction that we simply cannot fire our weapon or attack, game mechanically, and for that, I guess both explanations work well, both the "your brain is induced by pacifying drugs" and the "there is a protective shield around your body".

Even if there was a clear and understandable clarification, it wouldn't ever be upheld by everyone.
