The path ahead.

The wind gently rustled the leaves of the trees. He slowly opened his eyes, looking up into the branches. The familiar weight of his dual pistols anchored his hands across his knees. He was waiting, and listening. He closed his eyes again, falling back into the memories.

"You just do the best you can son. Your mother and I have done all we can to make a good life for you, its up to you from here on out."  That familiar voice. The guidance and wisdom that helped shape him into who he was today.

CRACK! His eyes shot open, both guns raising up to the ready. It was coming this way now, he needed to focus.  The loss of his father hit him a lot harder than he ever expected. He had duties now though, a clan to call his own. One that would need him and has supported him beyond the kindness he had ever experienced anywhere.

"Your right Pa, I've been sulking long enough. Its time to move ahead and prove myself."  He stood sliding his back up the tree. He cocked the hammers back on both his pistols, listening.

"Now!" He swung around the tree bringing both pistols to bear. A gunbeetle had followed him into the forest, he would show it how mistaken it was. 

BAM BAM BAM! Yes it was time to forge ahead, on this new path in life.
