OOC
Rules
1. All members in Assembly are allowed to have 1 alternative character in
the guild, but only if the main character is above level 100 and full
member, or the member has a rank of Veteran or higher. You are allowed to
have alts in other guilds, as long as there is no conflict of interest.
However, we are not a drop-off for your inactive characters, so it is
expected that you play them regularly.
2. All conversation in guild channel and vicinity channel should be in
character (IC). This also means that the use of smilies and "lol", "rofl"
and the likes should be avoided. How you talk in team channel or through
tells is up to you. Should you see it necessary to make an out of character
(OOC) comment, please use tells or private channels, and make use of
brackets [ ] or double parentheses (( )) to point out that you are speaking
OOC. Be advised that we operate with an MT fine, which means that every time
you MT something in the guildchannel or vicinity, you're expected to pay the
org bank a symbolic fine based on your rank in the guild. This is per date
100 credits for applicants to veterans, 500 credits for advisors and 1000
credits for the president.
3.
Roleplaying should not be pressed to the point of making other people
uncomfortable. Specifically any roleplay that involves situations that can
be emotional, i.e. personal relationships, interrogation or where
miscommunication or misinterpretation may be reasonable to expect. If
necessary, discuss it in OOC to make sure all parts understand and agree.
This is especially important when you throw yourself into a heated political
debate. Don't take things too seriously. It's all just roleplay and you
shouldn't be hurt by what other people say in-character.
4. We do not allow any powerplay or OOC knowledge abuse (metagaming). If
it's found that members are abusing IC information they learn in Assembly,
for example to feed an alt with intel, they will immediately be removed from
the clan. Assembly is a strict RP org, and we intend to keep it that way,
including a sharp separation between characters. For an explanation on OOC
knowledge abuse and powerplaying, read this
forumthread.
5. Don't expect things to happen for you, but rather with you. Create your
RP stories and plots, bring people into them. The clan is not here to cater
for everyone else, but to cater to eachother. Roleplay is everyones
responsibility, not just a few people. Make it happen yourself. Don't do
something that is very un-Assembly and don't go against orders. Remember
that all your actions and words reflect on us.
6. Use the forums actively. If not posting, then at least reading. Assembly
has members in different timezones, and some don't see eachother at all
because of this. The forums is a good way to keep up with what's new, and
it's everyones responsibility to keep the info fresh. Important information
is given here, and you're expected to keep yourself updated.
7. Show consideration for the other members and the clan if you plan to be
away for a time. There is no shame in taking a break from AO, but don't leave the rest of the clan hanging by either just disappearing
without a word or claiming you'll be gone for 1-3 weeks and then actually be gone for half a year. It's disrespectful to those who are waiting for you
to log on.
